Students

What You Need

One of the first things a budding accountancy student must consider when choosing the firm to apply to should be the quality of training they will receive. Do you want to be one of many on large audits ticking transactions or do you want to learn? We firmly believe that the training we offer, both professional and academic, is second to none. Over the last two decades our students have consistently achieved pass rates in the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland exams above the national average.

Our professional training starts on the first day the trainee walks through our door. The student undertakes a range of courses, both internal and external, covering a variety of accountancy related topics - such as the basics of accounting computing and auditing. Once completed the trainee is expected to be capable of dealing, under further supervision, with clients, either as juniors working on our larger clients, or individually dealing with smaller assignments.

Secondments with our international associates can also arise.

Because of the size of our office our partners and managers are not remote figures - instead they adopt a hands on approach, ensuring that all trainees maximise their potential.

As a result of this, when the student’s training contract comes to an end, regardless of what the future holds, whether it be with Jones Peters, another accountancy practice or in industry that newly trained accountant will have all the skills necessary to flourish in the rest of their career.
